After a gruelling inter-res tournament against some of the best basketball teams on Stellenbosch campus, Helshoogte came out on top and was crowned the champion of the 2019 tournament.

The league ran from the 26th of July till its conclusion on the 11th of October. Masedi Maponya and Sebastian Swanepoel acted as the captain and vice captain respectively, ensuring victory with outstanding displays of team management and all round understanding of the game. The rest of the team consisted Justin Johannes, Timothy Everson, Paul Sidersky, Ralf Hansen, Shane Pow Chong, Izhaar Ballim and Nathan Nyatondo. This great victory serves to be a reminder that with hardwork, determination and support from your fellow brothers in the house, anything can be achieved.

Helshoogte now has the difficult job of defending the trophy, with the next season starting soon in 2020. All Hellies boys with an interest in basketball are encouraged to join the team to achieve this goal by giving it their all and playing the beautiful game.
